Think about it; the existing system works very hard to deny care to the populations who would most need it in that situation: the working poor, combined with immigrants. Many people in that situation likely won't seek care (either out of poverty or fear of being deported) - and many work in service jobs. Every other country will be throwing open the doors of their hospitals, and we'll be trying our hardest to keep them shut.
