Hip…Hip…Hypocrisy
Obama and McCain – Dual Hypocrisy
As Obama plays the stern father role to the faltering auto industry and forces the resignation of the CEO of General Motors, he has yet to exterminate the employment of a single CEO from the financial institutions, that are mostly responsible for the mess America finds itself in.
Rick Wagoner most certainly deserved to lose his job for the lack of GM’s foresight and inability to evolve. This however, is not the issue. The issue is simply, that Obama has shown his partiality toward those who take showers before they go to work, rather than those who take a shower after.
This is a double standard that cannot be ignored. Let’s hope that this not a sign of things to come from the Obama administration.
As for, your pal and mine, Senator John McCain, his hypocrisy just keeps becoming more and more outrageous. Here is a man that was calling for the Obama administration to just let the auto companies fail, subsequently putting hundreds of thousands of blue collar workers out on the streets. McCain said,
“This is a remarkable move by the federal government — I think unprecedented in the history of this country. … What does this signal send to other corporations and financial institutions about whether the federal government will fire them as well?”
First off, this is not unprecedented. There have been several similar actions taken by previous Presidents. But what is so unbelievable, is that McCain is concerned about the feelings of corporate CEO’s, when he showed no such compassion for the feelings of middle class Americans who would have lost their jobs if GM and Chrysler would have fallen.
Hypocrisy runs rampant on both sides of the aisle.
