Now That Hannity’s Prediction Of Higher Unemployment Has Been Proven Wrong, Will He Show Contrition?
In case Sean does not know what “contrition” means, it means to show remorse and admit you were wrong.
That is probably genetically impossible for Hannity to do, so I am not going to hold my breath, but since he has spent the better part of the past several months spouting off all of these horrible economic numbers, it will be interesting to see how he covers the fact that unemployment actually dropped from from 9.5% to 9.4%.
Granted, it is not much of an improvement, but this is the first time unemployment has dropped in over a year. Clearly that deserves some coverage from Hannity, right? Well we will see.
I am not happy that unemployment is still over 9%, and I am certainly not happy that Obama’s stimulus plan contained way too many tax cuts, instead of meaningful and effective stimulus spending, but the point of this post is to see if Hannity is man enough to admit that he was wrong, and God forbid, give Obama credit for something positive.

I was going to say, before I read your post, that you shouldn’t use big words like that if there is to be any chance that Hannity will comply.
I do have a question for whoever compiles these clips. Do you actually have to watch this garbage in order to isolate these clips? If so, wouldn’t be easier to just stab yourself in the eye with a sharp pencil?
I’m kidding. I’m glad someone else does it, because I could not.

“I’m glad someone else does it, because I could not. ”
That goes for myself, and my wife.
All the money we are currently spending on EDUCATION is becoming a moot point when “people”, as Hannity, can’t grasp simple facts…so they make up their own “facts”, or corporate shills provide them with “facts” to fit their “fiction”.
That being said:
I do not think the “worst” is over…and the numbers that have been crunched suggest this economic mess might well deteriorate further.
The bastards in the financial sectors on Wall Street have certainly sent our entire Country, as a whole, into the abyss.

What the government reports as unemployment is not accurate or meaningful. These numbers don’t include quite a few people who are in fact jobless and/or severely underemployed.
In any case, people ARE still losing jobs in great numbers, there are no job gains, so I don’t know how you could take this ‘gain’ in what the govt reports seriously.
BTW I hate Hannity, so I’m not supporting anything he may have said… I can’t watch him.

Eric,
You are absolutely correct about people still losing jobs, and about the unemployment percentage as being kind of a “bogus” number.
I guess the point of this post was more about Hannity’s pompous personality, and less about the validity of the unemployment numbers.
Great comment. I hope you come back and participate more often.

From ABC News: “While unemployment is a lagging indicator, Friday’s report [10.2%] was more discouraging than had been expected. Most forecasters had predicted approximately 175,000 jobs lost during October, with the unemployment rate rising to 9.9 percent. The actual numbers turned out to be far worse.”
Kinda makes you look like a moron, doesn’t Che? You gonna apologize to Sean?
Want another prediction? Unemployment will go higher still. None of your Liberal Magical Thinking will override the reality of Economics and Market forces, but please don’t change. You guys are seriously predictable now. Just to feed your paranoia, tell all your friends that the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy is secretly identifying and tracking all of you so, that when we’re back in power, we can grab you and send you to the secret Reeducation Camps built by Halliburton for Dick Cheney and George Bush…

Sigh. While the current jobless rate isn’t pretty, it could be far worse. At least we aren’t bleeding 600K+ jobs per month as we were a few months ago.
What makes some think that, because it took us a few years to get into this hole, that we’ll magically crawl out of it within a few months? Besides, if memory serves me correctly, historically, jobs are usually the last sector to show improvement during an economic downturn. Oh, THAT’S right! We’re an ‘instant gratification’ society these days … I WANT IT! AND I WANT IT NOW!
Grow up and learn the art of patience.
Oh, and Handjob Insannity is still a pompous ass.
