Rachel Maddow Shines In Her Meet The Press Debut

By Che

To be fair, I need to first disclose that I am a bit of a Rachel Maddow slappy. Having said that, she really knocked it out of the park this morning.

It is always difficult to not come off like a know-it-all, when you are constantly correcting people who are factually incorrect, but Maddow walked that fine line and then some.

She came off as a serious wonk (not her goofy self from her own show, which by the way, is one of the reasons I love the show).

Several aspects of Maddow’s appearance on MTP this morning stood out.

  • She was firm without being a bully.
  • She was forceful with the facts without being intimidating.
  • She pushed the two conservatives on points that Gregory would not have done.
  • No one would have been able to tell that this was her first MTP appearance.

Great job Rachel. Now that I wrote all of these nice things about you, give my blog a plug on your show. ;-)

I love Rachel Maddow. She has been superb on this issue. She is sitting there on MTP showing David Gregroy how its done. Most of the MSM like Gregory have been too lazy to track-back to the source the information on these groups – they just take at face value. We have her to thank for a lot what we know about what is really going on at a lot these townhalls.

Rachel is great, she should host MTP, Gregory doesn’t hold a candle when it comes to just pure knowledge of any topic and a willingness to do the research to prepair for the show to actually hold the candidates feet to the fire on their positions and quoting their own words so they can defend their BS statements.

Notice when Armey peered over at Rachel’s notes. With Rachel, as with the jesters Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, there is a record of what politicians have said and done, and she calls them on it. With Gregory and so many others it’s down the memory hole.
