Glenn Beck Blatantly Distorts Quote To Validate His Fear-Mongering

By Che

It was very subtle, but changing that one word completely misrepresents Mark Lloyd’s statement.

By not maintaining the integrity of Mark Lloyd’s quote, Glenn Beck employed censorship. He censored the word “democratic” because it may have confused his audience and compelled them to question America’s weird obsession with, and misplaced hatred for Hugo Chavez.

Think about it, Beck could not leave the word “democratic” in the quote, because shortly there after, they depict the revolution as a communist revolution. Democracy would not fit into that poorly constructed framework.

This is all tragically ironic, because Glenn Beck has been insisting that his audience “Question Boldly.” Apparently he means just question people he disagrees with.

Whether you agree with the above motives or not, there is no way this distortion was an accident, and if that is the case, what was the motivation for the deletion?

This is just another example of why Fox News cannot be taken seriously when it comes to being a reputable network.

I am not going to hold my breath for a correction.

Psychosis is a dangerous state of mind.

Given ‘Becky’ doesn’t have a mind, what’s his excuse?

The essential component I get from Beck is that he is Afraid of Losing his Job – For that is what he considers his identity. Small man, small mind, big fear. I don’t listen to Fox because its just televised junk mail and entertainment, just noise on the airwaves. Good to hear that he is waking up to the reality that he is dispensable, though !

you should listen to fox, especially beck and hannity… and limbaugh. limbaugh was on beck last night, and though their audience may whittle off as these hosts become more and more unhinged, the hardcore will listen harder, read more into it, and i believe will become very dangerous. most will not, of course, but some will.

this right wing extremism is going to cost some number of people their life… and if it is determined that psychological manipulation was used in creating this hypothetical massacre, then those that create it should be held responsible… and they very well may be.

I can concur with your premise. Not sure it was intentional since quality of recording is poor, they may have heard it correctly. Also lets not get side track with the most important point: “No free thinking person can honestly think Chavez is running a democratic revolution”. This guy is scary. No matter what side his on.

Remember Dems and Reps are mostly the same in they want to empower themselves.

This guy gives Beck viewers WAY too much credit!

I doubt any of them would have been compelled to “Question” anything.

They sit back and let Beck and all the others from Fox News tell them what and how to think.

First off who in there right mind thinks that Chavez is running a democratic country let alone revolution. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
