What It Means To Be A Values Voter

By Che

btn_homeNow that the Values Voter Summit of 2009 has come and gone, it is time to reflect on what it means to be a “Values Voter.” The generic definition of the term “values” is simply this: Principles, standards, or qualities someone might consider worthwhile or desirable. I think it is safe to say that the values being stressed at the Values Voter Summit of 2009, are not values that the majority of rational Americans subscribe to.

Those who attended this summit, as well as the majority of the speakers, consider themselves staunch Christians. Yet if you were to peruse the website dedicated to this event, you would see that true Christian values were set aside, while intolerance, misogyny, and demagoguery stood in their place.

For the record, I consider myself an agnostic, but I have immense respect for the true teachings of Jesus Christ. Christianity most certainly gets a bad rap from the, so-called, “Values Voters,” who constantly disregard the teachings of their Savior, in favor of the more violent, intolerant, and incendiary Old Testament.

If you were one of the chosen few, pardon the pun, that actually attended this summit, you would have been able to attend lectures such as:

True Tolerance: Countering the Homosexual Agenda in Public Schools.

I never knew that “true tolerance” actually meant not tolerating others.

The Threat of Illegal Immigration.

Nothing says Christian values like targeting people whose only crime is trying to better their lives, and the lives of their families. Jesus would be proud.

ObamaCare: Rationing Your Life Away

These people need to brush up on their Ten Commandments, or at least review the Eighth Commandment, “Thou shall not bear false witness.” Granted that is the Old Testament, and not the Holy Book for Christians, but there must be something about lying in the New Testament.

Oh yeah…

Those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur.  (Revelations – 21:8)

Do not lie to each other. (Colossians 3:9)

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44)

Oh well, haven’t we all learned by now that the Bible is really just a book of suggestions for many of these people?

Global Warming Hysteria: The New Face Of The “Pro-Death” Agenda

I kid you not, the following were statements written to promote this conference.

  • Why did the President’s science advisor support coerced abortions to protect the planet?
  • Why are top abortion funders underwriting efforts to co-opt evangelicals on global warming?
  • If “people are the problem,” what’s the final solution?

No further comments on the global warming hysteria shindig are necessary.

The New Masculinity

If the title of this lecture leaves you scratching your head trying to figure out what the topic might be, look no further than the very first line of the synopsis:

Feminism has wreaked havoc on marriage, women, children and men.

Did you hear that you dirty, no good harlots? Always wanting to be treated equally. Read the Bible and then get back to me.

Somehow I do not think Jesus (if he is up there) would agree with the ideologies that these people are espousing. I am not a Biblical scholar by any stretch of the imagination, but when I ask myself that famous question, “What Would Jesus Do?” I am fairly certain that Jesus:

  • Would not want to kick out illegal immigrants and deny them health care.
  • Would want feminism to flourish, because that is just how Jesus rolls.
  • Would not be telling lies in order to derail legislation that could save millions of lives.
  • Would embrace the homosexual lifestyle, because he created it.

I wish I could say that I made all of this stuff up, but sadly, I can’t. If you want to experience laughter, sadness, fear, and anxiety simultaneously, visit valuesvotersummit.org.

I thought there had to be something in the bible about Rupert Murdoch – You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44) I’m going to e-mail “FOX Friends” right now :^)

Great article. I completely agree that the Bible is just a book of suggestions. Forgive me, but I plan on using that line in the future. I promise to footnote the source. ;-)

Regarding Christian hypocrisy, I hold with the statements of Gandhi. Gandhi was once asked what he thought of Christianity, and he replied “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”

    Amen.

What is called Christianity to day is a true Orwellian organization where light is dark and peace is war. Freedom to think is cast as unholy slavery while the electronic cyclops rots their brains with the insane rantings of Rush and Glen and the other minions of Mammon. Those who are in need are shunned while those who are greed are exulted. Far from doing their Lord’s work as they loudly proclaim, they instead bear the burden for the Beast they claim to detest.

But as measured by their own “truth” – as written in the Bible itself – by their actions shall you know them. Gandhi had something to say about this as well, noting that “I reject any religious doctrine that does not appeal to reason and is in conflict with morality.” Do try to convince me that the deacons of wealth and the sponsors of the separation of humanity are truly godly men. I could use a good laugh!

It is well known that cash makes us autonomous. But what to do when one doesn’t have money? The only one way is to try to get the personal loans or just commercial loan.
